With less than a week to go, the China International Model Exhibition will once again be held at the Beijing Exhibition Hall. It’s been a year since we last met—how I’ve missed it! Like countless model enthusiasts, all the colleagues at Henglong Models are eagerly anticipating the swift arrival of this exhibition.

Here, all the colleagues at Henglong Model would like to thank the leaders of the Ministry of Commerce, as well as the CEOs of Beijing Ruiyang Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Borui Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., for helping us build such a wonderful platform that enabled us to host an incredibly awesome remote-control tank party.

Q: What will the modelers encounter at this big party?

A: All kinds of experts!

At this big party, you’ll meet all sorts of enthusiasts—some who dabble in paint jobs, others in custom modifications, some into photography, some into competitive gaming, some who love tank racing, some who create immersive scenarios, some who organize competitions, some who run their own media platforms, some who collect military memorabilia, and even some who are passionate about cosplay... To put it simply: at Henglong Tanks, there’s nothing you can’t imagine—and no challenge that these enthusiasts can’t tackle!

When it comes to tank painting, there are the “historical-reconstruction enthusiasts” who meticulously research and faithfully recreate battle histories, and then there are the “creative types” who dress up tanks in frilly cake skirts and adorably pastel-colored outfits. As for me, I think tank painting reflects the artist’s skill and state of mind—whether or not it accurately recreates history isn’t really that important. As long as you personally love it and it brings you joy, that’s all that matters.

Creative ideas from the “Creative Party”

When it comes to modifications, there’s a group that strives to restore the vehicle’s authentic functionality, and another that loves to light up every single spot that can be illuminated. But the most intriguing group of all is the “tank rampage gang.” They don’t care at all whether the tank in their hands was actually capable of high-speed mobility in history—they’re solely focused on just how fast this tank can go once they’ve modified it themselves...

Enjoy the fun of photography.

In addition to circuit modifications, modders who are skilled in 3D printing also carry out exterior modifications based on the Henglong tank. For example, the well-known Beijing car enthusiast “Genius Dr. Yaoyao” has used 3D printing to reimagine the Henglong M4A3 Sherman tank, perfectly recreating the “Fury” tank.

Of course, photography enthusiasts can also find creative inspiration and photographic fun on the Henglong tank. In an age when social media is all the rage, taking photos has become a veritable art form. If you can take great photos, you’ll naturally be more likely to win a girl’s heart. As far as this editor knows, there are quite a few couples among our Henglong enthusiasts who’ve tied the knot after meeting through their shared love of tanks. (Psst: These days, there are gradually more and more female friends among Henglong car owners~)

Photography Enthusiasts at the Exhibition

At the exhibitions in 2023 and 2024, photography enthusiasts visiting Henglong Model’s booth can not only snap photos of 16-scale model tanks but also capture images of life-size, real vehicles. What’s more, these massive models are actually fully functional and can be driven!

Because these real behemoths are enormous in size, they’re always the first to arrive and the last to leave. So from this perspective, the Henglong model is always the contestant with the longest presence at the China International Model Exhibition.

The model and 2D culture are truly a perfect match—born for each other. Nationally renowned military collectibles experts and celebrated cosplayers have greatly enhanced the appeal of our big event. Moreover, as cosplayers specializing in the military field, they know everything there is to know about tanks and tactics. Their presence truly complements our exhibition perfectly.

So, remote-controlled tanks are not merely models or toys.
No matter your age or preferred style of play, you can always find your own unique enjoyment in the Henglong Tank. Our community of tank enthusiasts includes friends from all age groups. Within our Henglong modeling community, you’ll find young children, grown-ups, and many dear older friends as well. We always manage to connect with like-minded players in the Henglong enthusiast group, allowing us to happily join in the fun together.

At last year’s painting competition, the children’s artworks were very popular.

Therefore, the editor doesn't think remote-control tanks are a niche hobby either.
However, due to the high-pressure, fast-paced nature of modern life, car enthusiasts scattered across the country have been in a state of “enjoying solitude” for quite some time. Still, being able to enjoy solitude amidst our busy lives is actually a pretty nice thing.

Whether you’re painting or customizing, you can enhance your hands-on skills and imagination. As long as your heart is still full of anticipation and curiosity, no matter how old you are, you’ll always feel young at heart.
